The EPIC (Educating Practices/Physicians in their Communities) - BEST program is a statewide practice education program using office-based change as the key to promoting initiation and increasing duration of exclusive breastfeeding.  BEST is funded by the PA Department of Health and contractually administered by the PA Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics.

This CME/CEU program helps practices :

  • Learn how to manage common breastfeeding problems and challenges
  • Gain skills to support and promote breastfeeding among mothers who smoke and provide assistance to quit smoking
  • Develop a plan that optimizes outcomes for families related to breastfeeding and tobacco cessation and promotes continuing education among staff

The EPIC- BEST team is comprised of Pediatricians, Obstetricians, Family Medicine physicians and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.

EPIC-BEST presentations can be scheduled on site at practices, at grand rounds, monthly meetings and staff meetings.

These free on-site trainings are being offered from February 1, 2009 – June 24, 2009, so schedule your presentation now.
